Since ECS offers a BIOS update download that purports to address
compatibility issues, I downloaded and installed it successfully (e.g.
flashed and upgraded the BIOS). Previously the FX-60 worked erratically
(sometimes not rebotting, and the machine never "seeing" what kind of
processor it was inder the Info file). If I reinserted the old AMD64
4000 San Diego, the system works perfectly.
After the BIOS update (which I ran twice at ECS's suggestion --- the
second toime making sure that all of the BIOS was flashed and
upgraded), the FX-60 causes the machine to never turn on at all (a step
backwards, brom beofe the BIOS upgrade). Again, reinserting the old
processor, and all works fine.
What's the deal?
