#1: Make sure your IDE cables are on properly and tight.
#2: You didn't say if you can boot into Windows; it sounds like you
can't if your harddrive doesn't work; IF you can, try to run
scandisk; if your HD crashes or you get error messages, probably your
HD is failing/failed.
IF you cannot, and lyou cannot get past the BIOS boot screen, your HD
has failed and you may as well start shopping for a new one. There
are no drivers for Hardrives anymore, the drivers are generic and part
of Windows.
