My daughters PC does not communicate with the above digital camera or so I
thought. Trying to help, I've install it on 3 different PCs with no luck.
I came to the conclusion that the camera must be faulty. Taking it back to
Curry's store, the shop assistant said I was his second customer to have
this problem, so he set it up on a shop PC running XP and used a wizard to
connect it and it worked. He then installed CD ROM the camera software to
prove a point and that worked as well after a little fiddling about. I
thanked him and came home, confident that I could do the same. I connected
it to my XP machine and guess what .........having installed the software
and camera driver it refused to work. The camersa on its own works fine.

Its not that I don't have any digital camera experience......... I have
owned 3 of them, but this one is just being a real pain. Anyone have some
advice please before I get my hammer out.

One thing I notice is that using the CD ROM to install the software, a
driver for a "1.3 USB video camera". shows when the MGI Photosuite III
software is opened. When the shop assistant having installed the software
it installed a "1.3 USB still camera" try as much as I can I cannot find
the still camera driver. Can anyone save me?

Regards and thanks in advance.
Alan

Does the USB port work on any device? Perhaps the connector for the USB
ports was never connected to the MB.

Gymmie Bob

Thank you for your reply, but in desperation I telephone Konica yesterday
and spoke to their technical department. An engineer told me what was wrong
and how to correct it, I was told these instructions were left out of the
user handbook and it took just a couple of button combinations to sort
things out.

Out of interest, contacting Konica in the UK was an excellent experience,
The telephone was answered immediately by a human being and I was
transferred quickly to the tech department. Both the people I spoke too
were very helpful.

Regards
Alan

Look in the Device Manager. For Windows XP, Start>Control Panel>System.
Make sure View devices by type is selected, scroll down to Universal Serial
Bus Controllers and click on the plus. See if you have a USB root hub
listed.
If you do not have Universal Serial Bus Controllers in the device manager,
then USB is either not installed in Windows or they are turned off in the
motherboard BIOS. Or You may not have a USB port. You have a USB port it the
connectors are present.
