I have an Intel Motherboard 845GLS motherboard laying around and want
to get it running. Its an older board with a Celeron processor in it.
I am thinking about upgrading everything on the board (RAM, Video
Card, Processor). The documentation for this board states that it
supports up to 512mb L2 cache. I can not find any chips that fit this
board that don't have a least 1mb L2 cache. Will it affect anything if
I go with a chip that has more L2 cache than what the board supports?

This shouldn't make a difference to the question, but I posted the
wrong board. It is an Intel D865GLC motherboard.

There's is no L2 or L3 cache support for this MB. The cache is part of the
CPU and which cpu you use determines the cache sizes.
