Q: Would you tolerate bad pixels on LCD monitors? - Hi all, I just got a new computer that came with a flat panel LCD monitor. Both the computer and the monitor work great except that there's a bad pixel (stuck on, blue) on the monitor. The problem is not bad for normal use, but when you watch DVDs on.

Bright horizontal line -- what causes? - I've just installed a new monitor (old one high voltage ps died). the image will contract to a bright line in the middle of the screen with the rest of the screen black. Sometimes it recovers by itself; cycling..

I can't believe Sony has discontinued their crt line, incl.. - Sure, the F5** line had their problems, but the F520 was (and still is) the best damn monitor out there. I guess I'm going to have to rethink my dream triple F520 system that I was going to build someday (I have 1 right now).

CRT has white line in middle (black background) then nothi.. - I have an older CRT Monitor 19" (about 6 years) made by Last night, as always, I started the computer was OK) but later on when I came back to it, there was only a thin vertical white line in the middle of the screen (black..

Post subject: LCD line of dim pixels
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>video (more info?)

I just got a new LCD monitor. There is a small horizontal line on the
screen. It is about 2 pixels high and 100 pixels wide.

The pixels don't seem to be dead, they are just not as bright as their
neighbors. I tried moving a window with a red, green and then blue
background and the line appeared for all 3 squares.

Is this kind of thing normal for an LCD? I read elsewhere that
sometimes dim pixels fix themselves. If I leave the screen on for a
while with a white background might the problem go away ?
