I have an A8N SLI Premium. I don't see a speaker connection, or anything in
the sound applet to emulate it. Is there any?

On my A8N-SLI Premium I definitely remember hooking up the case speaker to
the system warning 4-pin speaker header. I hear a single beep during POST
which is normal.

The 4-pin speaker connector is part of the 20-pin system panel connector
which also has the power LED, IDE activity LED, power switch, and reset
switch pins. It's shown on page 2-29 of the E2128 A8N-SLI Premium user
guide.
