Hey there

Got some problems with a newly bought "Logitech Cordless Desktop s510 Media
Remote" ( Keyboard, mouse and remote control combo).
I wondered if some of you could help me with some questions around it.

Problem 1:
The ctrl+pgdn scan code/key combination is dead.

( I use Total Commander as an Explorer replacement and with this app the
ctrl+pgdn scan code is used to move down a directory or inside a
archive/exe-archive without starting the exe file. Moving up uses ctrl+pgup, but
this scan code/key combination works. This is an essential functionality that
prevents accidental execution of files when navigating the directories in Total
Commander.
Btw. The ctrl+Numeric-PgDn works as expected )

Anyone know heard of this problem with logitech keyboards or is it just mine
that is faulty ?

Does anyone know of a low level utility (dos, windows or Linux - preferably open
source or freeware Razz ) to test for scan codes ? ( I want to see if the
ctrl+pgdn even sends a scan code so I might will be able to remap it to the scan
code through the registry.

Problem 2:
When using the connect buttons on the different cordless devices it seems to
trigger the scan code (?) for the standby/sleep mode function. So to use the
devices I have to disable the standby button and hibernation button in the Power
Management applet in Control Panel.

btw. I'm using a Asus p4p800 motherboard but right know I can't remember the
bios version ( have to reboot to check) but can it be a bios problem, some acpi
thingy going on ?

tia

Henrik

In Linux, showkey -s from a console will display the scan codes of pressed
keys.
