My new logitech cordless optical mouse is not working on some buttons -- like
my desktop icons, my AOL favorite places folder, newsgroups, etc.
My old mouse was a cordless, button, Logitech that came with my new Dell. It
was tied in to the Logitech cordless keyboard.
When I installed the new one and it didn't work right, I tried removing one of
the connectors for the old mouse, but that made the keyboard not work! So I
reinstalled the new logitech mouse, and still have the same problem with it not
opening some items and opening others.
I sure would appreciate any suggestions.

Warm regards
June

Hi, what model mouse and keyuboard do you have?

What ports are they connected to?

Are you using iTouch and MouseWare?

I have the Logitech keyboard that came with my Dell computer. There was
logitech mouse that was connected to the same cordless power unit that ran the
keyboard.
The new mouse I bought is a cordless optical. It has a PS2 adaptor on it,
color coded green. and I installed it in the matching green plug on the back
of my unit.
I thought the old mouse connector might be causing this new mouse to not work
properly, but when I pulled it out (it's tied in to the same cord that powers
the remote power box for the cordless keyboard), the keyboard wouldn't work.
AARGH.
There's no model number on the box or unit for the new mouse. I've looked at
Logitechs web site and none of them posted looks exactly like this one. There's
one optical cordless mouse that has a blue front which is the closest looking
one to mine, but mine is all silver on the top face.
Any other ideas?

Warm regards,
June

PS, I used the installation software that came with the unit.

Warmest regards,

Sounds like an odd problem. I suspect that there is some mouse software
from the old mouse running that should not be.

If you're using Win9x look at the boot options in msconfig (type it into the
run box in the start menu) if you're using Win2k/XP it's a bit more tricky
to find out what boots on startup.
