Post subject: MBM5 vs BIOS CPU & Case temps

Hello !

I'm currently working on a Compaq PC based on an Asus P4G533-LA (Echo)
mobo.

In the BIOS hardware monitoring section, I can see that the current CPU
Temp is around 42 Celcius/108 Fahrenheit.

I installed Motherboard Monitor 5 to see how this temp may vary under
different contidions as well as to set an alarm in case the fans ever
stop running, because they are very silent..

When I set MBM to display the CPU temp on the tray - it displays "0";
when I set it to show the case temp, it shows 42 Celcius..

There's an option in MBM to link the sensor to a board sensor. The
above readings were made using "Custom."

In addition to this "Custom" setting I have 3 additional choices:
"Mozart2-1", and "Mozart2-2" and "None"

Linking the MBM CPU sensor to Mozart2-1 gives the same reading as the
"Custom Case Sensor" , and linking it to the "Mozart2-2" gives a
reading around 55 Celcius / 130 Fahrenheit.

I found a mobo layout specs on HP/Compaq site and checked that the CPU
& Case fans were plugged on their respective connector.

My questions :

- why MBM reports as "CASE Temp" the figure the BIOS says it's the CPU
Temp ? (BTW, the BIOS doesn't report a "Case Temp")

- what is this 55 degrees Celcius / 130 fahrenneith measure
corresponding to ?

Thanks
