Mac keyboard in PC ??

Hi,

Is it possible to connect a Macintosh keyboard (very old one from the
early 90s) to a PC ?

Maybe with a plug-converter and appropriate drivers?

Possible: yes
Easy: don't know, but my way would be "the hard one"

1.) Look at signals on keyboard-ports for mac and ps/2
2.) write converter with microproz-board like a Atmel AVR development
board for ~250 Euro. The µP from Atmel are cheap, easy to program,
flexible, with a whole lot of portpins, functions, interrupts and so on
3.) use "c" or atmel-ASM for programming the interface
4.) connect atmel chip like on specifiaction with pins of keyboards,
take power supply from keyboard-voltage of ps/2
5.) box the little beast
6.) plug in - be happy

The nice sideeffect of this little box would be, that you can burn your
next atmel for only a few euro and for example log all keyboard-events
on that line. That's a very nice little job, if you always forget your
own passwords and like to remember that little tool these. You simply
plug it between any keyboard and your computer and after a while the box
"learns" all used accountnames and corresponding passwords.

If you're too smart for this world, you could also misuse that little
toy for tracking the passwords of other users but this would be clearly
a misuse of that dongle and would be futile futile futile. Even don't
think about this, with the next computer law act even thinking about
maybe criminal.

But really even if connecting your keyboard to that computer should
fail, it's a lot of fun trying this little stunt. And if you take that
SMD-Atmels you can biuld a key-tracker that fits in the plug itself or
even in the cable. Wouldn't that be nice?

Unthinkable easy will your next visit in the nearby internet-caffee be.
You simply plug in your little toy, type: PLUG:pass_out (for example)
and that think will type all your learned passwords. But! Don't forget
it there. Maybe a misunderstanding friend takes this as a computer crime
attempting to spy out passwords.

So. Just plug in your mac-keyboard and all will be fine.

Hopefully plugging in mac-keyboards will not be a computercrime in future.
