Have tried every solution posted with no positive results.
So, I got a new hammer - still won"t burn , but sure feel better.

These drives seem to be pretty lousy, even on ebay people have the same problems first they cant read burnable cds then no dvds and no writing then no cd reading either. I wonder if anyone has tried to get an exchange from Panasonic, these drives seem to be long time defectives they should offer a replacement.

software for matshita CD-RW -7586 - software for matshita CD-RW -7586 a "mate" installled this CD-RW with appropriate software. Since installing Windows XP the drive is not recognized.What software do I need to over come this?
