I have a Maxtor NAS Shared Storage II (part # 9MG5A4-591) that
doesn't appear to be working. I've tried contacting Seagate's
customer support (since they bought Maxtor) but it's been a week since
I first contacted them and I haven't heard anything...

Anyway, here's the problem:

When I got it and was installing it, it prompted for a password and
all which I wrote down as I typed it in and now it will not recognize
the password I just typed in and I cannot do anything with the device
- what can I do, can I wipe it and redo it, my password was all lower
case, and I didn't type it in later in uppercase or change anything
about it but it will not recognize it.

Also, upon looking at what the lights mean on the drive, I haven't
gotten a solid green light for power, it just keeps flashing, I have
tried the reset, I have unplugged it and replugged it in, and I know
the outlet works cause I had my lamp plugged there initially, but I
can't get it to give me a solid green light and pushing the power
button isn't doing anything, I plug it in and it automatically goes to
flashing.

Any ideas/

Thay simply means you have to get another drive but this time do not
password it untill you have finished intalling your operating system
then you can now password. I will advice you topurchase a new one
with warranty go to any of those site i just listed below to do so.
I will recommend sony because sony products are more reliable, last
longer and strong.
Visit any of those site.
