Hi,
I have just installed two 512mb ram in my Sony Vaio laptop which
should now give me 1024mb ? My system information only shows 448mb.
When I boot up and go into the BIOS the 'Total Memory' is also only
448mb ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

At a guess ... 448 is 512 minus 64 so it looks like it is only recognising
one 512MB sodimm and 64mb of that is being given over to video memory. Try
each one in turn to check that they both work, then try again with both,
ensuring that they are both properly seated.

Try with one stick and see what you get. I'm thinking you're going to
see 192MB.
