Do these memories tend to be upward compatible? Can a DDR2-800
or DDR2-677 memory be used for a motherboard designed for
DDR2-533, such as an ASUS P5VD2-X?

Yes.

If the memory module is of the correct TYPE (in the example you give DDR2 in
a 240 pin DIMM package, unbuffered, non-error-correcting), then the rated
speed need only be high enough for your purpose. Higher speed memory will
work just fine, and is likely necessary to get the most performance with
overclocking.

Question about DDR2 - Hi All (though there doesn't seem to be too many posters to this group anymore). I have a cheap ECS RC410L motherboard and a Pentium D 805. This combo will run 3.5Ghz overclocked...but for some reason its not perfectly stable...it will boot and run...

What's this memory? - It says Mushkin 3200 DDR400. I bought it at Fry's so I didn't have high expectations for it. But I've got it running at FSB230, 1:1, 2.5,3,3,8 and stable. I didn't think 3200 could go that fast, stable. There is a number on the actual memory chip itself....

Memory at 2-5-2-2? - Is there memory out there that can run DDR 400 at the tightest timings stably?

Should I get new memory? - I just got my new Abit IC7 along with a P4 3.0c and I can overclock to 3.8Ghz with air cooling but it fails in Prime95. My memory is 2 512MB sticks of Corsair PC3200 XMS memory running with 5:4 divider. Do you think it's my memory holding me back and....

Memory - Anybody know where I can buy a 512 meg stick of Dual Channel DDR400 (PC3200)? Not two 256 meg sticks, but a 512 meg stick.
