What a disaster Minolta customer service is. I wish I had saved my money
and bought a Canon, or anything else.

My camera has been in and out of Minolta's repair two times, and is back in
right now. Guess what... the repair folks were the ones who screwed it up.
They finally told me that they would replace the camera, but only with
another USED one!

I will never purchase another Minolta product, and I suggest you do
likewise.

If you are interested in more details on this mess, along with sample
pictures of the latest issue, look here:

Camera Division

Mahwah, NJ 07430
Phone: 201.574.4000

Good luck!

Wow.. I am glad saw this, and also cheched out your link.. I was seriously
considering Minolta s414 or the Canon A70.. I have also read the reviews on
the Minolta , which gave them 2 thumbs up, but i've read somewhere else that
their Customer support is basically 2 thumbs up in the lower body region
Wink.
I think i'll go with the Canon A70. Oh btw.. i've seen people who have had
problems with vendors , writing to PcWorld.com and letting them go to bat
for you.. just a thought..
Hope you can that problem resolved.

Thanks! I'm glad I was able to steer someone away from the minolta problems
that I have had. I just heard today that they are shipping my repaired unit
/ replacement unit back to me. I am incredibly exasperated with these folks
and at this point am willing to write this off.

Regards,

frank

Just a thought, Frank, but have you thought about disputing the charge for the
camera with your credit card company? I put just about everything on my Amex
Optima, and anytime I've had a problem with a merchant I've found them to be
VERY good about crediting me back the cost of the item until the issue is resolved.
