Make sure that the monitor cable, and the display card are working properly.
When a monitor has a number of thousands of hours of use, it is possible
that there are some components in the video processing circuits that can
drift out of specs. It is also possible that the picture tube has decreased
in emission, and has become a little unstable. The balance of the picture
tube emission for each of the three colour channels is fairly critical.
The MTBF for the average CRT type monitor is about 30,000 to 40,000 hours.
This is under ideal operating conditions. In simple terms, with normal use,
a CRT monitor should ideally last about 4 to 6 years.
If parts are available, the manufacture service rep can service your
monitor. The concern would be if this is feasible. Most of the time, a
monitor can be fairly expensive to service, in relation to replacing it with
a new one.

Sporadically for the past few years my monitor screen takes on a
yellow-orange tinge. It will do it a couple of times, it is fleeting when it
does it, then I won't see it again for many months.
Back when it started I was worried about it but it hasn't seemed to hurt
anything.
Since it happened recently I am curious about its cause/origins. Anyone know
about this?
Thanks,
Pfl
