I have just been playing around with the video on this camera. Same
question... different day.... anyone know how to transfer these files to
the PC without emailing each one? Cingular is being very secretive about
this -- not much help -- and Motorola the same. Very strange for companies
to try and sell you something then intentionally avoid giving you basic tech
support.

Although I like this phone for my basic purpose (calling people), I would
not be able to give Motorola or Cingular a very good rating on tech support
for this model.

Just remember, that company is interested in one thing only....Your money.

Cell Phones are not intended for serious photography of any kind. Cell phone
cameras are just an extra added feature and not intended for "real"
photographs or videos.

The camera in cell phones is intended to send pictures to another cell phone
or to Email.

Why are you saying they are being secretive? Cingular has a tutorial
on their website on how to use the phone, including how to connect
to a pc with either bluetooth or usb cable
Motorola makes no bones about it, you need to buy their pc suite in
order to do things. No secrets, unless you expect to have the entire
support crew of both companies chanting instructions outside your
windows.
Things to try, read the manual. Go to cingular and motorola's website
and click on support.

Thanks. Still don't see any instructions on either site.
Where did it tell you how to connect to PC and transfer photos/video via
USB?

No, they're not very good cameras, but they are helpful with trying to show
others fairly decent visuals. And a lot easier than taking a digital photo,
downloading to PC and then trying to find an internet connection in the
middle of nowhere.

Go to the moto site, buy the pc suite, install it, and follow the onscreen
instructions. do not connect the phone until you are told to.

If you are showing people the image on the cell phone display, a Digital
camera has an LCD that will show the image. Granted, it is a 2 inch image.
But then how big is the cell phone display?

Q: How do I transfer my audio and video files from PC to phone?***
A: It is recommended to use the SDCard reader/writer (optional accessory,
purchased separately) to transfer large audio and video files to a
TransFlash memory card (verify - should this read "to a PC from your
TransFlash memory card???). The other option is to transfer via a USB cable
or Bluetooth® wireless technology using the Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 3.0
software package. However, the file transfer speed via the SD card reader
is much faster than the cable option. Please note that the cable transfer
option may be disabled per your carrier's request. Please check your
carrier restrictions to ensure which options are available for you.

There's no comparison between cell phone cameras and full blown cameras. I
did not even consider the camera feature when I was shopping for phones.
But after having played around with it - and the video feature - I have
found many practical uses.

I guess one way to understand what I'm saying is if you ever carried around
a pocket cassette recorder for dictating, recording meetings or just taking
notes. It's not the same as a recording studio, but it has it's purpose.
