I`m not sure that my question is not the same as the post from Avenger, I
have ventured into video editing and need large HDD, Should I use the
opportunity to upgrade with SATA, Any advise appreciated.

You should consider 2 sata drives and set them up in a Raid Array.

The Sata controller on the nf7-s is a PCI device so dosn't get the full
benefit of the higher speed protocols. Having said that I find that it does
have lower cpu loadings than the Nvidia chipset ide controller.

Chipset makers now realise that the PCI bus restricts use of the higher
speed sata procols and are embedding the controller in the chipset itself.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
