Hello group,
What was the best NLX form-factor card that Matrox made? I'm about to
purchase a 16mb G400 but I see references to a 32mb model (not
dual-head, but NLX like I need). Makes sense since the solder points
are there for the additional RAM chips on the 16mb models.
If there really was a 32mb NLX model, might anyone have one for sale
who can take PayPal for payment? I need it kind of quickly...
Thanks!

I don't have one. But I think that any of the single-head G400 models
will actually fit in NLX boards, because the space on the card for the
extra output expansion is the same size as the indentation required to fit
NLX boards. You would just need the NLX bracket, but you could take one
from almost any NLX video card since they all have the connector in the
same place. On the other hand, since there is no difference between the
16 and 32mb models except fo the memory, you might just as well go for the
16mb unless you plan on using modes that require more memory, since those
are widely available.

As for the G450 and newer Matrox cards, they all are either full-size, or
'low-profile' cards which explicitly will not fit NLX systems.
