I have had this camera for over a year, and still can't figure out how to
shoot in Macro Mode. We are trying to shoot some very close-ups of some
jewelry. Can anybody help me with this? I try to follow the directions in he
manual and on the CD, but I still don"t get it.
Thanks
Dexter

Put the mode selector on P. Turn on the LCD. Turn off the Flash. You may
need external lighting.
The Macro button is the middle button on the top row on the rear of the
camera. It has a flower symbol beside it. Press the button to select the
flower.

The rectangle with the dot inside, means spot metering. (good for small
objects). In this mode you have a flower and a rectangle with a dot inside.

In 2 seconds the display will disappear. With the LCD on, half press the
shutter button to focus on the subject, when the image is in focus press the
shutter all the way to take the picture.

If the camera will not focus, you are too far away or too close, move the
camera forward or backward to focus while holding the shutter button half
way. You may have to release the button, move the camera then half press
several times until you get in range. The zoom setting effects the focus.
Wide angle will focus the closest. About 3.6-4 inches from the subject.
Wide angle also will sometimes distort the perspective.
Macro works best if the camera is mounted on a tripod. Focus in macro mode
is very critical.

Try to understand what the C700UZ Reference manual says in the last half of
Page 71.

The PDF of that Reference manual. In Windows Right Click, Save Target As

Or let it load then save in Acrobat Reader. It is a 10.2 MB download.

Thanks much for the rebound. I'm off Tuesday and I'll try it then. This has
been a real problem since day 1.
If its OK, I'll email you with any further questions. Hope not.
