Post subject: Opinions on Windows keyboards with USB port
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>keyboard (more info?)

i currently have a Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro and love the feel of
the keys (soft yet provides good feedback). it has a USB port to which
i connect my Logitech MX500 corded mouse. the MS keyboard is the
typical beige color.

QUESTION: i'm looking for a decent BLACK keyboard to match my system.
i'm not interested in wireless units at all. if my current MS keyboard
came in black i'd buy it, but i haven't been able to locate one and
don't even know if MS ever produced one.

the closest match i've been able to come up with is the Logitech Elite.
the reservation i have is that i tried a Logitech keyboard a few years
back and didn't like the feel of the keys at all--too mushy and not
responsive, much like your generic Mitsumi $10 keyboards.

i've tried many keyboards over the years; about 25 of which i owned.
the best one i ever had was probably an old Northgate with the function
keys on the left, which is where they should be in my opinion (makes
key combos a one-handed process instead of two). the Northgates can
still be had on eBay but they are very expensive.

any ideas?
