OK - I didn't get any replies to this before, so I'm trying again - anyone
able to use anything higher than an Opty 170 in this board?
Thanks -
John
I guess no one wants to spend the extra $ just to find out.
Generally if the motherboard supports the multiplier, bus speed and
instructions used by the CPU you could manually set these parameters and it
should work.
Apart from bus speed, what is the difference between the two CPUs?
On a side note, isn't it annoying how these "forums" are highjacking
newsgroup posts at though ther are their own content. I just googled your
question and about 5 different forums were listed - all with your original
question.
