Question about P6SBA

Whatever happens, it's going to be 100 Mhz FSB only. Depending on your
voltage regulator, you can either go to 600 Mhz or 1000 Mhz. See other
post for info on which voltage regulator you have...

I am running a Pentium III 1GHz without any problems. (CPU is Slot 1
Coppermine). I believe this is the fastest CPU that can be installed.

I got it at Allstar Microelectronics in the fall of 2001. I do not believe
that Slot 1 Pentium III CPUs are being sold any more. Due to some
compatibility problems with certain motherboards, 1 GHz Slot 1 CPUS were
only sold separately for a short period of time. (I do not know the true
story on this, I just know that Intel only "certified" the CPU wit a small
number of motherboards.) You can still find them but they are very
difficult to locate. I think the Intel part number is BX80526... (I do not
remember what the remainder of the par number is.) I paid about $225 for it
two years ago. Since the Slot 1 CPU technology died, I would expect to pay
about that much or more today.
