I am looking for software to backup my Win XP boot partion onto a DVD
that allows me to boot from and recover the disk from the DVD without
requiring booting from recovery floppy disks. I have seen some backup
software that can backup the disk but in order to do the recovery, you need
a floppy drive and my machine doesnt have a floppy. Any sugestions would be
helpful

Kevin,

Imaging software like BootItNG (http://www.terabyteunlimited.com) and
Ghost will do this.

So will Acronis TrueImage. The setup process produces a bootable CD
with the drivers necessary. I think for any of these products there
are hardware compatibility with CDR/DVD/USB devices. For me
TI won't write to me USB-connected CDR drive. I don't mind
becasue I do disk-disk backups via ethernet.
