Post subject: Why is my PC not playing audio discs?

Hello -

I've got an IBM PC running Windows XP. I've tried both a Plextor and
Samsung drive in my system, and neither will play audio CD's. They
both will recognize data discs, however. I've tried different,
commercial, off-the-shelf audio discs, and none of them are
auto-recognized by the system. In addition, when I go into iTunes, it
says I have a blank disc in the drive.

Can anyone recommend a means of troubleshooting this? A rep at Plextor
mentioned off-the-cuff something about the CODECs of my system needing
reinstallation.

Thanks,

RB

Yea, if you go to Windows Updates there is a way to check your system
and make sure you have all the latest codecs installed. Another option
could be to install the latest version of Windows Media Player as that
will have the codecs. Or you could install Winamp as a cd music player
and that may fix the issue too.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
