Power consumption for the 7900GS and X1950 Pro, measured by hooking shunt
resistors to the card's six-pin power connector and probing the motherboard
pins:
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/x1950pro-gf7900gs_6.html
The X1950 Pro draws about 3A from the slot (which in turn is fed by rail #1)
and 2A from the external six-pin power connector (rail #2 or #3). Nothing to
worry about.
To put things in perspective, an X1900XTX draws 4A from the slot and 7A from
the connector. I ran an X1900XT (clocked about 5% lower than the XTX) on an
Antec 400W without problems.
