Reading through this thread, I gotta wonder: Is Philips generally a name to
avoid these days ?
I've had my own issues with Philips over the years: driver problems with a
CDD-2000; over-heating problems with a CDD-2600; firmware issues with a
Omniwriter/26; a Philips/Magnavox DVD-405 on my home theater system that
after two years plays DVDs just fine but distorts the Audio on CDs; and what
seemd like a total lack of customer support at the time on the CDD2000 and
CDD2600 issues.
I can appreciate that Philips is the inventer and/or co-inventor on much of
this technology, I'd LIKE to support them. But I need to draw a line
somewhere...
