Hello,

I'm trying to setup my Linksys BEFSX41 router for multiplayer gaming.
More specifically, I have a windows 2000 server that is setup for
medal of honor play.

So, I "opened" all the necessary ports for medal of honor and gamespy
arcade using port forwarding. But no one from the "outside" can
connect to my server.

ISP Setup
----------------------------------------------------
Cable modem with dynamic ip address assignment.

Router Setup
----------------------------------------------------
Running DHCP to clients. 192.168.xxx.2 - 192.168.xxx.99 reserved for
DHCP clients.
Port forwarding is enabled to the server ip address.
Block wan requests is disabled.
Firewall is enabled but allowing just about everything, i.e. java,
activex, etc.
Firmware 1.45.3
Setup to use DDNS. Using dyndns.org for dynamic ip address assignment.

Server Setup
----------------------------------------------------
Static ip address. Using 192.168.xxx.100.
Windows 2000 Server
TCP/IP filtering is disabled
IIS is running.
Third-party client software for dyndns.org.

I cannot ping the wan ip address from "outside".
Port 80, 20-21 work. I can connect to the server via a web browser. I
can see that some ports are allowing incoming access.

But anytime anyone connects to medal of honor it times out!

Do I need to use UPnP forwarding instead of port forwarding? Or maybe
port triggering instead?

Any suggestions would be great.

thanks in advance

Hmm.

I just got a befsx41 to replace the sr41 that died. No forwarding
either -- and every save crashes the router (but does save)<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
