Hi,
is it possible to remap keys in a keyboard? I had a keyboard which could
adjust the volume up/down, but now it's done... My new keyboard hasn't got
that feature... I wondered if it was possible to remap the +/- keys in the
right of the kb in order to make that keys adjust volume.
Thank you in advance!

Check out my webpage and the two links at the bottom on how to remap keys on
a PS/2 keyboard in Win2K or XP.

Scancodes for volume up and down are in the table.

If you have a USB keyboard or a different OS, it's probably gonna be a
little harder.

Now i know the scancodes for volume but where should I insert them? I
whatched in the registry for keymap but there isn't anything there...

E0 30
E0 2E

These are the scancodes for volume up and down but where can I tell windows
to associate those scancodes with the +/- keys?

Oh, glad to see Freeserve have now stopped me from using direct links to my
webspace. Time to actually finalise moving to a proper server then.

Read my page!

Look at the link to MS at the bottom of my page, and check out my .reg files
(as an example) linked from the body of the text at top of my page.

The keypad "+" is 0x4e
The keypad "-" is 0x4a

The "-/_" key is 0x0c
The "=/+" key is 0x0d

So something like:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map" =hex:00,00,00,00, 00,00,00,00, 03,00,00,00, \
4e,00,30,e0, 4a,00,2e,e0, 00,00,00,00

Might do it. Or it might be wrong, check it, see if it works, if not, start
reading and see what I did wrong.
