After about 18 months continuous use the motherboard in my SS51G has
failed and it has taken the Pentium CPU with it. I have proved that
both are faulty by substitution. Not sure why it failed because it
has never overheated, so I guess just a random failure, although I
have seen previous reports on here.
I trawled through this forum and followed some links, but it looks
like the FS51 mobo is no longer available from Shuttle.
Can anyone suggest a source of a replacement mobo or maybe even
another manufacturers board that would fit the case? I have built
many computers so fitting should not be a problem.
Would be grateful for any advice, even if you tell me it's a lost
cause.
Regards,
Virgo. >> Stay informed about: Replacing the FS51 Motherboard on a Shuttle SS51G |

yes - try Sato in Australia, they were Shuttle agents, but they recenty lost
their distributorship - they have lots of spares though, I bought a new
motherboard for SB61G2 only last week and they seemed to have a good spares
stock - their web site is www.satotech.com.au

They replied, but don't have one. They said they lost stock in a fire.
Bit stumped now. Does anyone know of another source or perhaps suggest
another motherboard that would fit?
Thanks. >> Stay informed about: Replacing the FS51 Motherboard on a Shuttle SS51G |

Wont one of the newer mobos fit in the case?
Seems to me that they still sell XPCs, but with better boards in them.
Surely as long as the form factor is the same they will fit in the
older case.
For most people, this would not be an option as they would want their
existing CPU to be supported by the new board. But, since your CPU is
cooked, you can buy any board that fits, and just install the
corresponding CPU.
