Is there a router product for home network that would allow one to block www
access by setting a time window of access for a particular cable port or by
the mac address? This to limit kids use of ww after hours vs manually
pulling the plug.

Any thoughts?

I know that D-Link models have parental controls that block sites by its URL and also controls WEB Access via the NICs MAC address. You can allocate a time to allow or to block the MAC from accessing the WEB. you can also get software to control such things, like Cyber Patrol and NetNanny.

I have a D-Link DI-624, and it would do what you would like. You would have to check out other models to see if they also support the Parental control. I haven't seen such features on netgears, but i mostly deal with VPN routers.

Wow, spoken like a true intellectual. I can see why you aren't able to find the answers for yourself. Don't like the assitance you are getting, thats fine, but keep your ignorance to yourself. Razz
