Hi all,

I have an ABIT SA6R motherboard that just goes
beep beep beep .... when I turn on the switch. It
was working fine before but now that is all it does.
I downloaded the manual from ABIT but it does
not have the beep codes in it. Where can I get the
beep codes for this board or if you have a clue
as to what's wrong, please let me know. I have
changed ram and the video card and it still does
the same thing. Any ideas?

thanks,
charles.......

Here are the beep codes (assuming it's an Award BIOS):

According to the beep codes, it is a ram problem. I guess
that if I try all the different ram sticks I have here that it
might be a bad ram slot? The computer was working up
until about 2 days ago then it started doing this.

thanks for the pointer,

Yes, you need to put the CPU fan in the CPU fan socket.

Also check the capacitors for swollen out tops and/or a crusty red/brown
leakage.... See this site: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.motherboardrepair.com/" target="_blank">http://www.motherboardrepair.com/</a>
