"Araldite, 2 part epoxy resin"
Yes that would work but it would make a permanent connection.
I need to unplug & change ..
I suppose I could Araldite just the connection on the drive which
seems to be the
loosest .
Is there available better in this respect cables ?

Sorry Mouse, but I don`t use SATA, but I`m betting the
cables come in different qualities.
I thought the problem was on the drive itself, `cos I`ve
heard they`re pretty flimsy.

You can get cables with metal clips now - I'm not sure if these engage with
all sockets, but on the mobo I tried, it formed a positive connection that
wouldn't fall off.
If using glue, I'd use a blob from a hot glue gun (carefully) - you can get
that stuff off plastic fairly easily if needs be.
Cheers

Some of them seat better when flipped end to end. Try that before the
glue. It's easier. >> Stay informed about: SATA plugs ..How to strengthen connection ?? |

This is a bit old but I was having the same issue. I took the top piece of cardboard from a pack of cigarettescut it to the width of the inside of the cableleaving it longand folding it back over the side with no data pins, it was a very firm connectionwhen plugging in (like it is with the old 40 pin PATA cables) and have had no further issues. The cable no longer rocks up and down and left and right.
Now I'm not endorsing anyone take up smoking for this, a piece of paper folded to 4 or 6 times thickness should do the trick too. >> Stay informed about: SATA plugs ..How to strengthen connection ?? |
