SB61G2V3 USB Port Problem

My new Shuttle is working fine except when I plug a Netgear MA111
wireless USB device into the front USB ports. The Shuttle goes into
some sort of reboot-reboot-reboot mode.

The front ports work perfectly for a camera connection. Sound comes
out of the front speaker port. I have checked the ribbon cable to the
daughter board and it is well seated.

Is there something odd about the front USB ports that causes this
behavior?

I have a ss51g and I also have a static sound thsat comes out the
front audio out port, but works fine out of the back one<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
