Hello,
I'm relatively new to the digital SLR family of cameras, but had a
general question about them. I bought my wife a Canon Digital Rebel XT
for Christmas, but after getting it home and reading the owners manual,
found out that you must take a picture looking through the viewfinder,
and can't see the image on the LCD until after it is taken. I know this
isn't true for "point & shoot" digital cameras, as we have a Canon A510
that shows the image on the lcd.
Is this true for all D-SLR's or is it due to the Rebel XT being a little
older technology or ?????
Thanks for your help,

Bob,
That's the norm for an SLR. The SLR uses a different (read: vastly
superior) method of looking at the optics, and it works a bit
differently from the cheaper P&S cameras. There's nothing "older
technology" about a Rebel XT; the XTi works the same way.
That said, I seem to recall one or two SLRs with the P&S-style LCD
viewfinder - Olympus e-volt 330, perhaps?
Be happy with the Canon Rebel XT; it's a good camera. >> Stay informed about: Question on D-SLR's |
