| I am going to install the OS on a completely new hardware setup this
weekend. I will use an older copy of pre-SP1 Windows XP Prof that I
will remove from my current PC. My roommate has a volume license copy
of Windows XP Prof with SP2 from work. Could I install using his newer
CD but enter my product key in order to save time with Windows updates
and the recognition of a drive largre than 137 GB?

Thanks for the link JD. Does SP2 contain the SP1 updates? >> Stay informed about: Saving time with clean install of Windows XP? |

You can slipstream Service Pack 2 with the older version of Windows
XP, and burn that to a CD. That will take some time, but then you will
have a new updated Windows XP CD. >> Stay informed about: Saving time with clean install of Windows XP? |
