I started monkeying around added a panasonic flatscreen thru the s-
video, then set the display to run on both monitors. Now, since the
panasonic isn't displaying a picture, I'd really just like to go back
to ground zero. I'm a moderate user, so please be as basic as
possible, but I know enough to get in trouble, just not get back out.

Try to use panasonic to return image on primary screen.
Click on display tab in Control pannel na / advanced/ monitors and jus
rollback to primary configuration

If that doesnt help use "indentify"button to be sure which monitor is active
