Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>networking (more info?)

I'm trying to setup a Netgear PS111W print server with an HP 820 CSE
printer on Windows 98SE. The problem is that Netgear's Add-Printer
Wizard doesn't have the 820CSE as an option so I have to click on
"Have Disk" and then point to an inf file.

The 820CSE drivers from HP are in a setup.exe file and the inf file
contains a message to install only from setup.exe. Thus I can't
install it this way.

I ran the HP 820CSE setup.exe file to install the drivers on the
computer. I then ran the Netger Add-Printer Wizard and installed a
generic HP Deskjet printer. Once it installed I went into
Printer-Properties and changed the driver to the 820CSE driver. It
seem to work fine except any time I try to print with MS Word or
Notepad the application crases with an error in one of the hp DLLs.

Any suggestions how I get this printer installed?

Thanks,
Bob
