Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>dcameras (more info?)

Hi,
I am trying to help a friend pick out a camcorder for christmas, he has
looked at the Sony CCR DVD 100 and I have some questions,
1) can the DVD's this thing makes be played on a home DVD player?
2) what kind of compression does it use?
3) Battery life?
4) Is there a better option other than the camera he has selected? I know
Sony has a great rep. and is this is probably a great cam but is there
something better? Price is really not an issue as this guy has more money
than he needs and can buy anthing he wants! (must be nice!!)
please reply soon as he is getting itchy to BUY I just want to find him the
best bang for the buck.
TIA
