Post subject: Thinkpad IP addresses wrong
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>networking (more info?)

My Thinkpad T30 has both wired and wireless built-in. Running WIN XP
PRO SP2 with a Linksys WRT51AB router.

Lately, when T30 is started, wireless fails to work and shows 'enabled'
and 'disconnected. The cause seems to be that the static IP address for
wireless has changed to be the same as wired IP address, 192.168.1.36.
Wireless should be 192.168.1.37. When I changed wireless to correct IP
address, wireless runs OK. However, after power is off overnight,
wireless IP address will again be wrong when restarted.

IPCONFIG /ALL lists wired IP info but does not show the wireless info.
Is that normal?
Control Panel network connections does show both wired and wireless exit.

ThinkpadAccess.exe appears to be managing the wireless LAN.
Connection status says wireless IP address is not assigned. But Control
Panel says wireless IP address is 192.168.1.36 and has a conflict with
wired IP address.

I need help with repairing this.
Thank you, Dave_s
