Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>tyan (more info?)

I purchased a Tyan thunder K7 s2462 motherboard thinking it was a socket
A motherboard and that I could use an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ CPU with it.
After I downloaded the manual for the motherboard, I found that my CPU
was not in the list of supported CPUs.

Will I damage my CPU if I try it in the motherboard?
