Help!

I am hoping to purchase the Minolta S414 but it
would appear to be out of stock everywhere!!!

Does anyone know a UK site / shop with good stock
of this camera or the reason for lack of supply
from manufacturer?

Ideally shop can supply to alternative address as
I am out during the day and going on holiday in 14
days!!!

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and does anyone have any comments on my choice
of camera (good or bad)?

Alan

Hi Alan, I bought one of these about a week or so ago(?) google this
group...and yes everywhere was out of stock then so I ended up paying about
£20 more than I could have got it for (if in stock) from <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.cameras2u.com" target="_blank">www.cameras2u.com</a>
They appear to have it in stock now for £10 less at £246.95
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?PRODUCT=V2799101A" target="_blank">http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?PRODUCT=V2799101A</a> . They
shipped nextday to an alternate address for me but you have to send them an
e-mail afterwards, read the FAQ on their site. The cheapest I did find it
was <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.berridges.co.uk" target="_blank">www.berridges.co.uk</a> , if you live in Leicester you could walk in at get
one for about £235 IIRC, but postage would be £8-£10.

P.S. I'm very pleased with my choice, no problems whatsoever, would
recommend a case of some sort because slinging it in your pocket is liable
to get the LCD screen scratched. It has a removable lens cap which may be
an issue to get used to at first if you are a user of compacts with
automated lens protectors. Make sure you get some hicap rechargeables too
as it will eat up the shipped alkalines almost instantly Wink<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Sorry that should be
http://www.berridgemail.co.uk/products.php?productId=1069 not just
berridges.co.uk, looks like the price gap in the market has closed, it's
£242 with VAT now.
