Hi Alan, I bought one of these about a week or so ago(?) google this
group...and yes everywhere was out of stock then so I ended up paying about
£20 more than I could have got it for (if in stock) from <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.cameras2u.com" target="_blank">www.cameras2u.com</a>
They appear to have it in stock now for £10 less at £246.95
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?PRODUCT=V2799101A" target="_blank">http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?PRODUCT=V2799101A</a> . They
shipped nextday to an alternate address for me but you have to send them an
e-mail afterwards, read the FAQ on their site. The cheapest I did find it
was <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.berridges.co.uk" target="_blank">www.berridges.co.uk</a> , if you live in Leicester you could walk in at get
one for about £235 IIRC, but postage would be £8-£10.

P.S. I'm very pleased with my choice, no problems whatsoever, would
recommend a case of some sort because slinging it in your pocket is liable
to get the LCD screen scratched. It has a removable lens cap which may be
an issue to get used to at first if you are a user of compacts with
automated lens protectors. Make sure you get some hicap rechargeables too
as it will eat up the shipped alkalines almost instantly
