Mod an MP3-CD player to accept HDD - Hey, Been looking to make a portable MP3 player. So started looking at SBCs and stuff. Figured out that its difficult to beat the HDD-MP3 players (US$200 for Neuros 20GB MP3 player!!) on bcoz a SBC is a general purpose
usb mp3 player pen drive - i bought a usb mp3 pen drive (512MB), it worked fine the first time i used it.i used the CD to install the drivers and other i copied WMA and mp3 from WinXP on FAT32 and the gadget played the file. Now i copied some files from a Win2000 on NTFS..

Dear Members and All,
I would like to know about how to repair my USB MP4 player (2GB) from
China. When I put it in any computer USB port, it says charging... and
I don't see my driver letter in My Computer, driver CD (so called)
don't work at all on Windows XP and it said that "you don't need to
install driver on Win XP, this driver CD is for Windows 98 version".
If you found any of source about repairing or fix my USB MP4 player
(software or hardware), let me know. |

I doubt you'll be able to fix it, unless it's just
something simple like a blown fuse on the connector traces.
Try it on another WinXP system and if it still doesn't work,
pop it open and see what you can find. |

@@If you have a plug into the mains charger unit for this player then 1st
charge it up that way .
@@Does it work at all ??
@@When you have plugged it into the PC 's USB does XP give the new hardware
found message??
@@REPEATEDLY plug & unplug it waiting a minuite or so between each attempt.
@@Run the 'New Hardware' find in XP's Control Panel .
