Post subject: Non-Ultrabay 2000 DVD burner for T41 Thinkpad?
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>cd-rom (more info?)

Hi,

I've got IBM Thinkpad T41 with Combo drive and I'm thinking about
upgrading it to DVD+-RW. Problem is, that here in Poland, DVD-Burner for
T41 costs 6 times the price of standard slim NEC DVD+/-RW ND-6500A drive.

So, my question is: is there a way to connect standard slim device into
Ultrabay 2000? Perhaps with some kind of adapter? I've found "ThinkPad
Slim Drive Adapter for Ultrabay 2000" on IBM accessories page, but I'm
not sure if it is the one I'm looking for.

Any help/clues are welcome.

Regards,
Bartek
