VCR Tape to DVD

My daughter got a unit that will take her VCR tapes and burn them to
DVD's. Everything works just fine except her Disney VCR tapes won't
transfer. That is why she got it. She wants the DVD's for trips so
the kids can watch them on a DVD player. Does anyone know how to
transfer these VCR tapes? What is she doing wrong?
