I've just finished building a new pc based on an asrock 775 dual-vsta
motherboard and a c2d e6300, primarily so that I could continue to use
an old 7600 gs agp video card and a few other devices.
The card works perfectly fine in its old case, but when I put it in the
new computer, I get a low power warning.
The case has a 500w antec neo he power supply and is running only the
video card, a sata hard drive and a cd-rom. I very seriously doubt I'm
underpowering the card here.
This is a fresh install of windows xp home on a new hard drive, no
other software is installed. I've tried removing and reinstalling the
nvidia drivers, but that doesn't resolve the issue. I've heard suggest
that I overclock the fsb 1 or 2mhz, but overclocking is still a mystery
to me and I really don't know how to do that, and I'm not sure that it
will even work.
I really wnat to try to save this card ... if I need to buy a new card,
I realyl should go for pci, and if I get pci, I have to get a new
motherboard, and if I get a new motherboard, I may run into troubles
with the new copy of xp oem I bought for this build.
Any suggestions as to how to proceed? >> Stay informed about: Video card power problem |

Did you plug the special power cable onto your GS card? That's what
happened to me when I first bought the 7600 card.
