Post subject: S-Video (tv-out) question
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>chaintech (more info?)

I want to use a second lcd display with a new system I'll build,
perhaps with the 7NIF2, or similar.

Instead of connecting a tv with the s-video, can the onboard
s-video output to an lcd at it's native resolution - which
would also be the same resolution as the primary lcd monitor?

I've read some reviews at newegg that talk about the lower
resolutions that tvs require, but I have no idea if this
same "tv-out" s-video can be used to output to a 1280-1024 lcd
at its native resolution.

In other words, what restrictions are there on using the onboard
video and s-video out as a dual display system?

Looking at the faqs on nvidia, it seems that you a can configure
their "cards" to output either to a monitor or a tv.

But I'm not sure if the onboard chips offer the same functionality.

Also, if this works as I'm hoping, could one also use it with
different resolutions - say one at 1280x1024 and another at 1600x1200?
