Post subject: Wireless network connects, but Firefox/IE doesn't!

I've got a Netgear D834G and had the laptop from which I am writing connected wirelesly and a desktop connected via cable. I moved the desktop machine and used a Netgear WG111v2 wireless USB adapter instead of cable for its net connection. The WG111 driver and icon in the tray all tell me its conneced fine, as does the routers status page when accesses from my other machine (including a ping), however when running IE, IRC or Firefox on the desktop machine it just cant find any web sites at all, including the router's status page, my antivirus software cant get its autoupdates either.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. The desktop machine is running Windows ME (yes, I know....)

Thanks!
