no bios found !

i try to install an updated version of asus probe and asus update but during
the install i get the error msg ''no bios information found'' or '' no asus
mb found''. Sometimes when i try to run older version of asus update my pc
freezes or if i successfully open it i get the above errors. My mb is
P4C800-E Deluxe and i have winxp.

Revan,

General opinion is not to use Asus Update. Reason? Your bios is too
important to risk anything else stuffing the update process, so the simplest
most reliable methods are best.

Also, asus update versions can be motherboard specific IE: you may have to
have a minimum version for it to be usable on your mobo. Don't use an older
version jsut cos its there. Don't use it...
