I received some motherboards without bios chips on them.
Are they dead without them?
Which bios chip is used in a supermicro p4dl6 mb?
Which bios chip is used in a supermicro p4dp6 mb?
Thanks in advance.

No Bios.No boot. There's a couple places you can order new chips. But,you'll
have to ask Supermicro what chips you'll need.

Measure the voltage at the corner pin. It should be either +5V or
3.3V.

The following pages suggest that the BIOS chip is a 4Mbit Flash
EEPROM:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/GC-LE/P4DL6.cfm
http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/E7500/P4DP6.cfm

Once you have the voltage, capacity and package style, then it
shouldn't be too hard to find a compatible part.

For example, the flash utility, phlash.exe, has a list of supported
parts which can be displayed by typing ...

phlash /dev

Look for those chips with a "part size" of 512.

These are what I managed to find:
